Intro

We offer the following topic-based training programs to enhance your organization's ability to systematically manage the entire process of knowledge production, consumption, and updating. Depending on your needs, you can choose one topic or several topics in combination.   

1. DITA Training

We'll guide you through the structure, operating principles, and advantages of DITA, and explain the factors to consider for effective implementation, drawing on real-world experience. You'll also learn how to systematize content authoring using DITA and content management using a content management system.   

 

- Introduction to the structured document overview and key concepts
- Definition and concept of Topic, and guidance on the characteristics of five detailed types: Task, Concept, Reference, Glossary Entry, and Troubleshooting

- The concept of a map and how to manage various types of information such as topics, images, and videos by structuring them into a map.

- Guide to the concept of metadata
- How to publish (or output) DITA documents in formats such as HTML 

- A brief introduction to editors and tools for creating and publishing DITA documents.

2. Tool Training: Adobe FrameMaker

Adobe FrameMaker offers a user interface very similar to PDF output, making it easier to create structured documents. We'll discuss how to leverage its features to produce knowledge more broadly and how to update and manage that knowledge more efficiently.

1) Beginner Training - Converting unstructured information into structured documents

This guide introduces the basic features of Adobe FrameMaker. It includes an explanation of the definition and structure of Maps and Topics, as well as how to implement them in Adobe FrameMaker.

- We will guide you through how to convert unstructured information such as existing MS Word, MS PowerPoint, images, and videos into structure using Adobe FrameMaker.

2) Intermediate and Advanced Training - Effective Update and Management of Structured Documents

- We will guide you through an approach to determine whether the Map and Topic structures of already-written structured documents have been specified to a level suitable for your needs, and to change them to a structure that suits your needs.  

- Guides you through tips for effectively managing when multiple document authors collaborate on creating and updating structured documents in a local network environment.

- We'll share how to effectively use Adobe FrameMaker when multiple document authors are managing content in conjunction with a content management system.
